What is the LaneChange.net Realtime Black List?
Spam (or unsolicited bulk email) is rampant on the Internet these days. Poorly designed computer software, combined with malicious people trying to exploit weaknesses to make a quick buck, or to cause damage to others has prompted many companies to turn to black listing.
Black listing is a method whereby certain computers are banned from communicating with other computers. These lists can be compiled automatically using a variety of methods, such as over abusive sending computers, fingerprints of spam or harmful email attachments. Black lists can also be compiled manually by system administrators.
LaneChange.net, in order to provide protection for its clients and to protect our investment in network infrastructure, makes use of multiple black lists, both public, private and internal. If you are visiting this page, its most likely because you have been a victim of such a block and are seeking information as too why.
Well, that depends on the error message you received. Chances are, if you are viewing this page, you received an error similar to:
If this is the case, you are most probably blocked by our internal black listing system because the email server you use to send email to our servers has been deemed a threat to our operations and as such, we have implemented defensive measures to protect us from your server. It is possible we have tagged your server’s IP as a spammer incorrectly. If you believe this is the case, please click here and provide us with the reason you feel we should remove the block on this IP (don’t forget to tell us the IP address!) and we will review your request.
If you received another error message, chances are you are blocked by either a public or private external black listing organization and you should contact them for removal instructions. REMEMBER: These blocks ONLY effect email INBOUND to US and not outbound from us, or inbound to OTHER email servers. These blocks are in place to protect US and only us. If your email has been rejected by some other organization’s email server, you must contact THAT group. We do not block email destined to other email servers, only those belonging to LaneChange.net.
